ABOUT US

Our Story
With over 20 years of experience in education and community outreach, Dr. Clark founded HBCU West Coast to elevate the conversation around Black colleges and universities on the West Coast. Her passion for education and advocacy drives the mission of the organization, ensuring that future generations recognize the value of HBCUs. Dr. Clark brings her extensive background in educational leadership as a school administrator, instructional coach and curriculum developer, family relationship coach, entrepreneur, and former teacher to HBCU West with the goal of creating an awareness and excitement about what HBCUs offer, and, hopefully, send more students to HBCUs.
Born and raised in South Carolina and a graduate of South Carolina State University, she now resides in Los Angeles where she is focusing on expanding her role as a leader in the community through building partnerships with schools and organizations to spread the word about HBCUs. Her dedication to fostering relationships within the community helps broaden opportunities for students considering HBCUs. Dr. Clark is responsible for crafting the vibrant and engaging content you see at HBCU West Coast. Still in its early stages, with great support and backing, she aims to build up HBCU West Coast with a full staff and become known as the “go-to, one-stop spot” for parents and students who need their HBCU questions answered in order to make informed educational decisions.
